Imagined time | Achille Funi between archaeology, history and modernity | SINTONIE | Ferrara 2023

Thanks to the promotion of the Regional Directorate of Museums Emilia-Romagna, Assicoop Modena&Ferrara and Legacoop Estense, on November 11, 2023, an exhibition dedicated to Ferrara artist Achille Funi opened as part of the Sintonie project at the National Archaeological Museum in Ferrara.

The exhibition curated by Emanuela Fiori and Tiziano Trocchi with the collaboration of Luciano Rivi, for the first time exhibits all twelve preparatory cartoons of the Months.

Thanks to a series of comparisons between the Ferrara painter's works and the prestigious Etruscan materials of the Archaeological Museum, visitors are called to reflect on the many ways in which it is possible to imagine the relationship with time and history, conceived by Achille Funi according to cyclical patterns and represented through narratives in the form of myth, capable of actualizing the ideal values of the past.
